Cercasi suggerimenti su migliori album jazz con saxtenoristi

Cari amici,
il titolo dice tutto quindi non aggiungo molto altro.

Vorrei un po' approfondire l'ascolto del jazz orientandomi su quei saxtenoristi che rappresentano la creme-de-la-creme di un secolo di musica jazz.

I nomi "grossi" più o meno li conosco :saputello , Lester Young, Coleman Hawkins, John Coltrane, etc. ma volendo spendere qualche soldino per specifici album da acquistare - su iTunes ad esempio - qualche vostro consiglio sarebbe ben apprezzato.

E meno male che non dovevo aggiungere molto altro...

C'è solo l'imbarazzo della scelta:
Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz, Jerry Bergonzi, Joshua Redman, Bob Berg, Mike Brecker, Joe Lovano, e chi più ne ha più ne metta!
Se fai una ricerca di questi autori troverai anche gli album e le recensioni.

OK però intendevo se ci sono - per capirci - 5 o 6 album (non compilation) che considerate ... imperdibili.

Più in generale, ad esempio, direi che se uno ama il jazz (in genere) alla lunga non potrÃ* non annoverare nella sua raccolta personale l'album "A Kind of Blue" di Miles Davis.

Ecco, esiste qualcosa del genere che - relativamente a questi artisti - rappresenti la loro pietra miliare?

Sai la cosa è molto soggettiva, io una volta feci una ricerca dei migliori album sassofinistici jazz di tutti i tempi, bè non ne rimasi molto entusiasta...
potrei dirti, Giant Steps di Coltrane, The Bridge di Sonny Rollins...ma la realtÃ* è che se per me una cosa è bella non per forza le è per te...cmq ti consiglio di fare una ricerca su google.

Molti dischi di Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young o Ben Webster sono raccolte con dentro tanti pezzi, spesso molto carine, ma possibilmente cerca di guardare quando sono stati incisi perchè alcune compilation sono dei pacchi assurdi perchè hanno lavori al loro interno con delle diversitÃ* abissali.

Per il resto penso che tu dovresti compare assolutamente "Kind of Blue" di Miles Davis, è il tipico disco che non può assolutamente mancare, al tenore c'è John Coltrane in splendida forma.
Poi un disco che consiglio sempre è Karma di Pharoah Sanders, ma è giÃ* un ascolto un pochino più particolare, a me ha aperto la mente xD

Forse ne avrai sentito parlare ...Bob Mintzer i nomi grossi li hanno giÃ* fatti...io sto facendo il masterclass con lui...mentre il traduttore parlava cio ha spiegato tutto lo schema blues e ha cerchiato gli accordi fondamentali e come sfruttarli per improvvisare :shock: semplicemente pazzesco lo ha scritto in 3 minuti netti :idea:

Guarda, sottoscrivo tutti quelli che sono stati suggeriti: ho alcune raccolte della Dreyfus che trovo splendide, sopratutto per ciò che riguarda i musicisti che incidevano singoli sui 78 giri, o solo per la qualitÃ* del suono; la Dreyfus ha digitalizzato a 24 bit i masters di quelle registrazioni facendo un ottimo lavoro di restauro.
