Si forse, ma visto che usano il termine scrape in 'from the top of the vamp to the tip' mi lascia supporre che qui si intenda come 'piallare' o meglio 'grattare' (skyscraper=grattacielo) e non tagliare/sminuzzare (giustamente dici 'cut' o 'clip')...
