"Careful with that Sax, Patrick": the Selmer company presents a saxophone to David Gilmour.
As we know, David debuted as a saxophonist on On An Island to positive reviews. The French-based Henri Selmer company is the world's leading saxophone maker, and Managing Director M. Patrick Selmer has revealed himself as a huge fan of David's work. Accordingly, while David was in Paris, Patrick took the opportunity to present David with a Selmer Reference alto saxophone, which David was very happy to accept.
We don't know whether the special Reference sax (designed in consultation with French jazz musician Pierrick Pedron) will make an appearance on the current tour dates, but we expect so.
